About this startup
PPT Fusion is a live web app that turns documents into designed PowerPoint presentations. Users upload a PDF, Word (DOCX), PowerPoint (PPTX) or text file, pick a theme, and get a ready-to-present .pptx in about a minute. It is live at https://nextsub.site. The app is pre-revenue: payments work end to end in test mode, but there are no paying customers yet.
What users get
- Upload PDF, DOCX, PPTX or TXT files up to 20 MB.
- 8 built-in themes, plus a Brand Kit where users add their own logo and colours.
- 10 slide layouts (title, bullets, two columns, stats, timeline and more), chosen automatically from the content.
- A slide editor (Pro and Team plans) to change text, reorder or remove slides, and download the updated file.
- A Home dashboard, My Profile page and a Docs page listing saved presentations with re-download links.
- Works on phones, with a mobile menu and a WhatsApp support button.
Plans and billing
- Free: 10 saved presentations, no editor.
- Pro: 100 saved presentations, editor included.
- Team: 500 saved presentations, editor included.
- Subscriptions run through Paystack (checkout, verification, webhooks, Manage subscription). Tested and working in test mode; going live only needs live keys, no code changes.
How it is built
- Frontend: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript (no framework).
- Backend: Node.js and Express, JWT login, bcryptjs passwords, Multer uploads, PptxGenJS for the slides.
- Storage: JSON files, automatically backed up to and restored from Supabase Storage.
- Hosting: Render, with the custom domain nextsub.site.
- Optional OpenAI planner for smarter slide content. Without a key it falls back to a built-in planner, so the app runs with no AI costs.
- Security: signed download links, rate limiting, upload size limits and automatic cleanup of old files.
Running costs
Low. It runs on Render and Supabase with no AI spend required.
Good fit for
Someone who wants a working SaaS to launch and market, an edtech or training business, or an agency that makes presentations for clients. Next steps could include image extraction from documents, team workspaces, Google Slides export and marketing to schools and students.
